Lasith Malinga MI: శ్రీలంక దిగ్గజ ఆటగాడు లసిత్ మలింగ ఫ్రాంచైజీ క్రికెట్‌కు రిటైర్మెంట్ ప్రకటించాడు. యార్కర్ కింగ్‌గా పేరొందిన మలింగ 2008 నుంచి ఐపీఎల్‌లో ముంబై ఇండియన్స్‌కు ప్రాతినిధ్యం వహిస్తూ వచ్చాడు. ఇతడి పర్యవేక్షణలోనే జస్ప్రిత్ బుమ్రా మేటి బౌలర్‌గా ఎదిగాడని అనడంలో అతిశయోక్తి లేదు.
సుమారు ఐపీఎల్‌లో 122 మ్యాచ్‌లు ఆడిన మలింగ 170 వికెట్లు పడగొట్టాడు. అంతేకాకుండా ముంబై 4 ఐపీఎల్ ట్రోఫీలు అందుకోవడంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించాడు. అటు ఐపీఎల్‌లో అత్యధిక వికెట్ల రికార్డు ఇతడి పేరు మీద ఉండటమే కాకుండా 2011 సీజన్‌లో పర్పుల్ క్యాప్ కూడా అందుకున్నాడు. ఫ్రాంచైజీ క్రికెట్‌కు వీడ్కోలు ప్రకటించడం వల్లే మలింగను ముంబై ఇండియన్స్ ఈ ఏడాది రిలీజ్ చేసింది.
