FOUR! Nicely done! Another yorker, on off, but this one dips as well. Mark Wood is almost undone by the lack of pace but does well to open the bat face and glides it wide of short third for a boundary.

OUT! RUN OUT! That is catastrophic for England and Brydon Carse who was hitting the ball so well, has to walk back to the hut. Ravi Bishnoi bowls this a tad shorter and flat, angling it in from around off. Carse rocks back and punches it across in between long on and deep mid-wicket. Dhruv Jurel from long on sprints to his right and cuts it off. The two batters are indecisive and go back and forth for the second run. Jurel fires it in at the bowler's end and it is Carse who is unable to scamper back in time as Bishnoi whips off the bails.

Jos Butler, the skipper of England says they would have looked to bowl first had they won the toss but will now look to bat well and seize the new opportunity. Mentions that they will have to look to play a bit more aggressively and do better in all departments. Says they will need to assess the conditions quickly and mentions that Jamie Smith will make his debut replacing Jacob Bethell who is unwell and Brydon Carse comes in for Gus Atkinson.

Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India says that they will bowl first and it looks like a good track and they saw some dew while practicing the previous night. Adds that they want to stick to the basics and have the same approach as the last game. Reckons that the fielding department is something that they have been focusing on a bit more and that aspect brings the whole team closer. Informs that Nitish Kumar Reddy is ruled out of the series and Rinku Singh will miss a couple of games as well and says that local boy Washington Sundar is in and so is Dhruv Jurel.

TOSS - India win the coin flip and they have decided to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Deepdas Gupta is pitchside. He says that T20I cricket is back at the venue after 7 years and says it is a bigger venue and the boundary straight down the ground is over 75 meters. Nick Knight joins him and says that there are a few cracks and there's a good covering of grass, dead grass that is and reckons that we might see 180 being scored here and it might help the spinners a bit but not much.

JUST IN - Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the series after sustaining a side strain, while Rinku Singh, who suffered lower-back spasms during fielding in the previous game, will be unavailable for the next two matches. To cover for their absence, Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh have been called up to the squad.

Moving on to India, they opted to play just one frontline pacer in the form of Arshdeep Singh and he bowled beautifully at the start, allowing the likes of Varun Chakravarthy to then come in and rule the middle overs. With the bat, Sanju Samson got another fast start but it was Abhishek Sharma who hammered 79 runs off just 34 balls as India finished off the run chase with plenty of time to spare. It will be interesting to see when and if Mohammed Shami gets a game under his belt given that he is returning from a prolonged injury and is a part of India's initial Champions Trophy squad. India are the favorites to win the second match, given their current form and the expected conditions in Chennai. However, England are a formidable opponent and will be eager to prove their mettle.
