Langpoklakpam Jayanta Kumar Singh is a member of the Manipur Assembly from the Keishamthong seat. As a member of the National People's Party, he was elected to the seat in 2017. He is also the state's Minister of Health and Family Welfare. Notably, he resigned as Manipur's Health Minister in April 2017, citing government intrusion in the ministry, but it was soon found that the ministers' resignation papers were never accepted, and he would continue to retain the same ministries he had previously. Jayanta Singh is also the Minister of Law and Legislative Affairs, as well as the Minister of Art and Culture and the Director-General of the Command Area Development Authority. He is again contesting from the Keishamthong constituency.
