Chandel is an Assembly constituency of the Chandel district in Manipur. There were a total of 47,545 voters in the Chandel constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled in the second phase i.e. on March 5, 2022. In 2017, National Peoples Party's Letpao Haokip had won the seat. Meanwhile, the BJP has fielded SS Olish from the seat, she is among one of the three women candidates that have received BJP tickets. The Chandel Assembly constituency is reserved for Sts. Also, this Assembly seat falls under the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency which is represented by NPF's Lorho S Pfoze.
