Thoubal is an Assembly constituency of the Thoubal district in Manipur. There were a total of 30,002 voters in the Thoubal constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled in the second phase i.e. on March 5, 2022. In 2017, Congress party's Okram Ibobi Singh had won the seat. The seasoned Congress leader and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh had defeated BJP's Leitanthem Basanta Singh. The BJP has again fielded the Leitanthem Basanta Singh from the seat. It must be noted that this Assembly seat falls under the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
