ఎన్నికల్లో కాంగ్రెస్ గెలిచినప్పుడు ఒకలా.. ఓడిపోయినప్పుడు మరోలా ఎన్నికల సంఘంపై మాట్లాడటం సరికాదని కేంద్ర మంత్రి, బీజేపీ నేత కిషన్ రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలతో సంబంధం లేకుండా ప్రజాస్వామ్య వ్యవస్థలపై విశ్వాసం కొనసాగించాలని సూచించారు. ఎన్నికల సంఘం, సుప్రీంకోర్టు వంటి రాజ్యాంగ సంస్థలపై కాంగ్రెస్ నేతలు చేస్తున్న వ్యాఖ్యలను ఆయన తప్పుబట్టారు.
తెలంగాణలో పార్టీ ఫిరాయింపుల అంశాన్ని ప్రస్తావిస్తూ.. ఇతర పార్టీల నుంచి కాంగ్రెస్లోకి ఎమ్మెల్యేల చేరికలపై కిషన్ రెడ్డి ప్రశ్నలు లేవనెత్తారు. ప్రజలు ఒక పార్టీకి ఓటు వేసినప్పుడు, ఆ తీర్పును గౌరవించాల్సిన బాధ్యత ప్రజాప్రతినిధులపై ఉంటుందని పేర్కొన్నారు. పార్టీ ఫిరాయింపులపై విమర్శలు చేస్తున్న కాంగ్రెస్.. తెలంగాణలో జరిగిన పరిణామాలపై కూడా సమాధానం చెప్పాలని తన పోస్ట్లో రాసుకొచ్చారు.
ఓటరు జాబితాల ప్రత్యేక సమగ్ర సవరణ (SIR) విషయంలో కాంగ్రెస్ చేస్తున్న ఆరోపణలను కూడా ఆయన ప్రస్తావించారు. SIR జరిగిన ప్రాంతాల్లో కాంగ్రెస్, ఇతర పార్టీలు విజయం సాధించిన విషయాన్ని గుర్తుచేశారు. ఓటరు జాబితాల్లో తప్పులు ఉన్నాయని భావిస్తే, వాటిపై ఎన్నికల సంఘం ముందు ఆధారాలతో అభ్యంతరాలు వ్యక్తం చేయాలని సూచించారు. ఎన్నికల ప్రక్రియపై అనుమానాలు ఉంటే వాటిని సంబంధిత సంస్థల దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లాలని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఎన్నికల సంఘం స్వతంత్ర రాజ్యాంగ సంస్థ అని, దాని విధుల్లో ప్రభుత్వం జోక్యం చేసుకోదని కిషన్ రెడ్డి స్పష్టం చేశారు. ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ, ఓటరు జాబితాలపై రాజకీయ పార్టీలు తమ అభిప్రాయాలను వ్యక్తం చేయవచ్చని.. అయితే ప్రజల్లో ఎన్నికల వ్యవస్థపై విశ్వాసం దెబ్బతినకుండా బాధ్యతాయుతంగా వ్యవహరించాలని సూచించారు.
ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో విమర్శలకు, భిన్నాభిప్రాయాలకు ఎప్పుడూ చోటు ఉంటుందని కిషన్ రెడ్డి పేర్కొన్నారు. ఎన్నికల్లో గెలుపోటములు సహజమని, ప్రజల తీర్పును అన్ని పార్టీలు గౌరవించాలని అన్నారు. రాజకీయ విమర్శలకంటే ప్రజాస్వామ్య సంస్థలపై విశ్వాసానికి ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వాలని తన పోస్ట్లో అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.

The Leader of the Opposition called the elected Prime Minister and Home Minister of India “deshdrohi”. Using such language against leaders elected by crores of Indians shows that Shri Rahul Gandhi has lost not just election after election but also his balance. Before his next press conference, he should get a mental check-up.
Rather than apologise to people for the observations made by the Hon’ble Supreme Court when it𝐮𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐋𝐀 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, it is ridiculous that Shri Rahul Gandhi chose to lecture the nation on democracy on that very day. After the Congress formed its government in Telangana, 𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐋𝐀𝐬 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐝 under the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. One of them even contested the Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket when Rahul Gandhi gave him a ticket to contest while still sitting as an MLA of another party. The people of those constituencies voted for one party; the Congress took their mandate for itself. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 “𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢”. The party that steals mandates through defections and was severely castigated by the Supreme Court for this atrocious behaviour has no moral right to accuse anyone of stealing votes.
The Congress and Shri Rahul Gandhi have become desperate. When they cannot win the people’s trust, they try to destroy the people’s trust in India’s institutions. Today it is the Election Commission. Yesterday it was the Supreme Court. The Congress calls every investigation by ED and CBI into its corruption a “misuse of agencies”, while its own leaders, including Shri Rahul Gandhi, are out on bail in the National Herald case. They have demanded proof of our armed forces’ valour, and questioned the sacrifices of our soldiers and paramilitary forces. 𝐍𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬.
The Congress does not trust the Supreme Court. It does not trust the Election Commission. It does not trust EVMs, and it does not trust our forces. I ask Shri Rahul Gandhi: whom do you trust?
The voters have already answered him. Shri Gandhi claims that where the SIR was conducted, the BJP won by “vote chori”. Look at the facts. In Tamil Nadu, where the SIR was conducted, the people elected a new government, and it was not the BJP. In Kerala, where the SIR was conducted, the Congress-led UDF came to power. A 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐋𝐀 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐈𝐑 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲.
In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress won 13 of the 20 seats where the most names were removed from the rolls. The BJP won only six. If the SIR was a BJP conspiracy, why did the BJP not win where it was conducted? SIR cannot be a conspiracy in Bengal and a blessing in Kerala. Will the Congress also call its own governments in Karnataka, Telangana, Himachal and Kerala illegitimate? Or is democracy alive only when the Congress wins?
The Congress should look in the mirror. This is the party that ignored its own Chief Election Commissioner when he recommended the removal of an Election Commissioner over partisanship. That Commissioner then went on to oversee the 2009 election, which the Congress won. This is the party that made former Chief Election Commissioner Dr. M.S. Gill a Rajya Sabha MP and a Union Minister. Former Chief Election Commissioner Shri T.N. Seshan, whom Shri Rahul Gandhi himself called a model of impartiality, fought the Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket. The party with this record is in no position to lecture anyone on the independence of the Election Commission.
The Congress had lakhs of booth agents and weeks to raise objections to the voter lists. It filed almost none. When asked to put his “vote chori” allegations on oath, Shri Gandhi refused. Allegations that cannot be made on oath should not be made at press conferences.
Our position is clear. The Election Commission is an independent constitutional body. This Government has never interfered in its functioning and never will.
This year, more than 92 per cent of voters in West Bengal came out to vote. 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐭. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐪 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐢 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.
The people of India do not need Rahul’s certificate to know their vote counts. I warn him to refrain from using such foul language against a Prime Minister whom the world, across cultures and continents, reveres for his ‘Nation First’ conviction. If he does not mend his ways, the people will once again teach him a befitting lesson at the ballot box, as they have done time and again.
