Megan Schutt

Bowler
Right Handed & Right-arm fast medium

Megan Schutt is Australia’s lethal swing merchant, renowned for her punishing inswingers, precision under pressure, and a knack for landmark performances that swing big games. Her relentless consistency and skilful variations have made her a feared spearhead across formats.

She made her domestic List A debut for the South Australian Scorpions in the 2009–10 WNCL as a 16-year-old, quickly drawing attention with her pace and accuracy. Her T20 debut came with the Adelaide Strikers in the inaugural 2015–16 WBBL season, where she has been a constant ever since. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the league’s most successful bowlers and was also recognised as Strikers MVP in their title-winning campaign in 2022.

Schutt broke into the Australian national team in late 2012, making her ODI debut against New Zealand and her T20I debut in early 2013 against the Kiwis as well. She also debuted in Tests in 2013 in the Ashes. She quickly made an impression, leading the wicket charts in the 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup with 15 wickets. She is famously the first Australian woman to take both a T20I hat-trick (2018) and an ODI hat-trick (2019).

Internationally, Schutt has been a mainstay across major victories. She was the top wicket-taker in the 2020 WT20 World Cup, taking 4/18 in the final, and played pivotal roles in title-winning campaigns in 2018, 2020, and 2023 T20 World Cups, as well as the 2022 50-over World Cup. Schutt picked up her maiden five-wicket haul in 2023, playing against Pakistan, and in the following year repeated the feat in WODIs against India. She surpassed 150 career T20I wickets in 2025 and was also ranked number 1 in the ICC WT20I bowling rankings at one point.
