Jayden Lennox

New Zealand
Bowler
Slow left-arm orthodox 31 yrs.

Jayden Richard Lennox is a highly skilled left-arm orthodox spinner from Napier, New Zealand, who has recently made the leap from a consistent domestic performer to an international cricketer. The 31-year-old is a mainstay for the Central Stags, formerly known as Central Districts, across all formats. Known for his control and tactical intelligence, Lennox has evolved into a leadership figure within the New Zealand domestic circuit, particularly in white-ball cricket where his ability to restrict scoring and take crucial wickets in the middle overs has made him a standout.

Lennox's international career reached a major milestone in December 2025 when he earned his first call up from the Black Caps for their ODI tour of India. He made his debut on January 14, 2026, in Rajkot for the second ODI, and quickly impressed by picking up 3 wickets across his first two matches at an economical rate. Beyond the senior team, he has been a regular for New Zealand A, notably featuring in matches against Australia A and Sri Lanka A throughout 2025 and early 2026.

Domestically, he was appointed as the captain for the Central Stags for their 2025-26 Super Smash campaign, stepping up to lead the defending champions while regular captain Tom Bruce was away on franchise duties. As of April 2026, he has been named in the New Zealand national squad for their white-ball tour of Bangladesh, retaining his spot in both the ODI and T20I teams following a series of consistent performances. While he has been a core member of the Central Stags for years, his focus has shifted toward these international opportunities and leading the Stags' one-day and T20 sides.

Lennox has also achieved several notable domestic milestones that paved the way for his international recognition. He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2022-23 Super Smash season, where he claimed 16 wickets. His trophy cabinet includes multiple domestic titles with the Stags, and he holds an impressive career T20 bowling average with a best of 4 for 15. In first-class cricket, he has also proven his worth with the bat, recording a career-high score of 88 against South Africa A in 2025, demonstrating his value as a capable lower-order contributor.
