Chloe Tryon

All Rounder
Right Handed & Slow left-arm orthodox

Chloe Tryon is one of South Africa’s most experienced and impactful all-rounders, celebrated for her explosive right-handed batting and useful left-arm spin. Her love for cricket began almost as soon as she could hold a bat. Much of her childhood was spent playing in the backyard and around the community with other kids. Facing boys at a young age helped her develop toughness and shaped the fearless cricketer she would later become.

Her rise through the ranks was rapid. By her mid-teens she was already representing her province, and in 2010, at just 16 years of age, she made her international debut at the Women’s T20 World Cup against West Indies. She made an instant impact, taking a wicket with her very first ball in international cricket, an achievement that remains a special part of her story. Since then she has become a regular in the Proteas side, known for her destructive batting in the middle order and her ability to provide a handy option with the ball.

Tryon’s maturity and consistency have also seen her take on leadership roles, including serving as South Africa’s vice-captain at different stages of her career. Among her biggest highlights came during the World Cup campaigns in 2023 on home soil and in 2024 in the UAE. Although South Africa fell short at the final stage both times, those tournaments were milestones in her journey as she stood at the heart of a team that had grown into a world force.

Her influence has extended well beyond international cricket. Tryon has been a popular figure in franchise leagues around the world, where her power hitting and ability to contribute with the ball have made her a highly sought-after player. She has featured in the Women’s Big Bash League, The Hundred, the Women’s Caribbean Premier League and the Women’s T20 League. In India, she was part of the title-winning Mumbai squads in both 2023 and 2025, while in The Hundred she celebrated success with Southern Brave in 2023. The combination of international pedigree and franchise experience led to her being named in South Africa’s squad for the 2025 Women’s World Cup.
