Sanquelim is one of the Assembly constituencies of the North Goa district in Goa. There were a total of 26,207 voters in the Sanquelim constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled on February 14, 2022. This is a key seat as Goa’s sitting Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will try to retain the seat which he won in the 2012 and 2017 Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is more than confident that the sitting CM will win from Sanquelim again. It must be noted that this Assembly seat falls under the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency. It is a general seat, i.e. it is not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).
